What is virility in 2021? Beyond the biological definition that scientists give of it, Ariane questions its cultural and societal dimension. She uses old photos of naked men to confront yesterday's representations and codes with those of today. In place of the heart, symbol of the emotions that we often ask men to shut up and internalize, she integrates the mechanism of a clock. Revealing and challenging the workings of a well-anchored patriarchal notion, observing its evolution, is a way to begin deconstructing stereotypes and to put contemporary injunctions at a distance.
